Through detailed on and off-field programming and mentorship from the best lacrosse players in the world, business industry giants, decorated military servicemen, and a nationally acclaimed psychologist, we equip attendees with the leadership skills, mental resilience, and strategic mindset necessary to excel at the collegiate level and beyond.
With a focus not solely on player development, our intent is to inspire personal growth, instill lifelong success habits, and provide actionable tools that enable participants to thrive in both their athletic, academic, and post collegiate journeys.

The Program

Day One

June 23, 2025

Introduction, Understanding Leadership Styles, and Building Personal Resilience

Day one will focus on the Foundations of Leadership, emphasizing leadership styles and personal resilience. The day begins with an introduction session, where staff provide an overview of the agenda and set expectations for the days ahead. This is followed by an on-field, physically intensive leadership workshop led by former Navy Seal Mike Burns and other leadership, guiding athletes through personality assessments and group exercises to identify their leadership strengths. The evening includes a 90-minute individual skill-based training session with The Players Academy Staff, a reflection session to reinforce leadership lessons, and recovery opportunities at the hotel with ice baths, Normatecs, and other recovery tools.

Day Two

June 24, 2025

Balancing Academic, Athletic, and Personal Success

Day two will focus on navigating life as a collegiate athlete, emphasizing the balance between academics, athletics, and personal success. The day begins with athletes being addressed by former Division 1 athletes turned successful businessmen, Sol Kumin and Scott Stuber, followed by a hybrid on-field training session that includes positional work and small-sided transition games with The Players Academy staff, followed by a panel over lunch with the leadership directors. In the afternoon, athletes will engage in workshops with Sports Psychologist Dr. T, and NIL and Branding Director Gene Daniels. The day concludes with a hyper competitive on field training session that builds up into 6v6 scrimmages, separating players into teams as they prepare for the final day of full, four quarter games.

Day Three

June 25, 2025

Leadership Beyond the Field:
Paying it Forward

Day three will focus on Leadership Beyond the Field, emphasizing life after lacrosse and the importance of giving back. The day begins with a final on-field competition, where athletes break into teams and compete in two full games. Following the games and a panel with the Players Academy Staff over lunch, participants will engage in position specific breakout sessions with positional directors, followed by a closing keynote on leadership, impact, and legacy delivered by the leadership staff. The program will conclude with an awards ceremony, where positional awards and character awards will be distributed to athletes.

Grant Ament

Bio

Grant Ament is one of the most dynamic playmakers in lacrosse history. At Penn State, he shattered records, including setting the NCAA single-season assist record, and led the Nittany Lions to their first-ever Final Four. Transitioning to the professional ranks, Ament quickly made an impact, winning PLL Attackman of the Year and helping the Utah Archers secure multiple championships.
Off the field, Ament is committed to growing the game through mentorship and training. He is a co-founder of Players Academy, a digital training platform that provides elite lacrosse training to players of all levels. Additionally, he serves as the offensive coordinator at The Haverford School, where he helps develop some of the nation’s top high school talent.

Blaze Riorden

Bio

Blaze Riorden has redefined the goalie position with his unique combination of elite shot-stopping ability, leadership, and transition play. At Albany, he was a standout netminder while also making national headlines for his highlight-reel goals as a field player. His dominance continued in the PLL, where he has been named Goalie of the Year five times and was awarded league MVP.
Off the field, Riorden is a leader in lacrosse education and development. He contributes to Players Academy, where he provides specialized goalie training and mentorship. Additionally, he serves as the head coach at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, where he is dedicated to developing young talent at the high school level.

TD Ierlan

Bio

TD Ierlan is one of the most dominant faceoff specialists in the history of lacrosse. He set NCAA records for career faceoff wins and groundballs, boasting the highest faceoff percentage ever recorded among players with at least 500 attempts. His ability to control possessions has made him a game-changer at both the college and professional levels.
Beyond his playing career, Ierlan is passionate about developing young faceoff athletes. He is a key contributor to Players Academy, where he shares his expertise in faceoff techniques and strategies. Additionally, he serves as an assistant coach at The Haverford School, where he works closely with faceoff specialists and midfielders.

Rob Pannell

Attack Director

Accolades: Tewaaraton Award Winner, 11x All-Star, 2x Offensive Player of the Year, 1x MVP, 2x First Team All-American

Bio

Rob Pannell is one of the most accomplished attackmen in lacrosse history. During his time at Cornell, he won the Tewaaraton Award as the nation’s top player and became the Ivy League’s all-time leading scorer. Since turning pro, he has dominated at the highest level, earning MVP honors and consistently ranking among the top point producers in professional lacrosse.
Beyond the field, Pannell is dedicated to giving back to the game. He co-founded Players Academy, where he provides cutting-edge training and mentorship to the next generation of lacrosse players.

JT Giles-Harris

Defense Director
College: Duke 21’
Team: Denver Outlaws
Accolades: 3x All-Star, 1x Defensive Player of the Year, 2x All-Pro, Duke’s Record Holder for Groundballs and Turnovers

Bio

JT Giles-Harris is one of the most dominant defensemen in modern lacrosse. At Duke, he was a lockdown defender and a key leader on one of the nation’s top defenses. His elite athleticism and high lacrosse IQ have translated seamlessly to the professional game, earning him Defensive Player of the Year honors in the PLL.
Off the field, Giles-Harris is dedicated to mentoring young players and growing the game. He is a contributor to Players Academy, where he provides high-level defensive training and insights. Additionally, he is an assistant coach at Jacksonville University, where he plays a vital role in developing the defensive unit at the Division I level.

Aedan Herman

Founder

College: Marist 13’

Bio

Aedan is a former Division I Men’s Lacrosse player at Marist College, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. As a player at Marist, Aedan was awarded with the Marist College Coaches Award, an award given annually to the student-athlete who has played the game of lacrosse to the best of their ability and who has, by example, inspired or led their teammates both on and off the field.
Upon leaving Marist, Aedan accepted a job at GroupM, the world’s largest media buying agency. After two years of being at Group M, Aedan decided to join the Army, serving as an Infantry Officer for four years, completing a number of leadership courses including: Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Officer Candidate School, Infantry Basic Officers Leadership Course, and Strykers Leaders Course at Fort Benning, GA, and served as a Platoon Leader, Operations Planner, and Logistics Planner at Fort Wainwright, AK with 3-21 Infantry Battalion, 1-25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Upon leaving the Army, Aedan took on an operations role in the aerospace industry at Fortune 500 company Precision Castparts Corporations, in Gardena, CA until 2019.
In 2019 Aedan accepted a job with Mad Dog Lacrosse, where he has served as a coach, Regional Director, National Director, and now currently acts as the Vice President and Head of Collegiate Recruiting. In his time with Mad Dog, and coaching lacrosse in general, he has coached, developed, and mentored 200+ future D1, D2, D3, and MCLA student-athletes.

Sol Kumin

Leadership Mentor
College:Johns Hopkins 99’

Bio

Mr. Kumin currently serves as Chairman of the US Lacrosse Foundation Board and is on the Board of Directors of the Tewaraaton Board. He is also Vice Chairman of the Johns Hopkins University Lacrosse Advisory Board. He is a Co-Owner of the NLL Albany Firewolves and was an early investor in the Premier Lacrosse League. As a player at Johns Hopkins, he played in 2 Final Fours and received the W. Taylor Cook Award in 1999 for Outstanding Character and Attitude. Mr. Kumin holds a BA in political science from Johns Hopkins University.

As a businessman, is currently Co-President of Leucadia Asset Management LLC. Prior to Leucadia, Mr. Kumin was CEO of Folger Hill Asset Management, which merged with Schonfeld Securities in 2018. Previously, he worked at SAC Capital Advisors for 10 years serving as Chief Operating Officer for the last 5 of them. He currently serves as a director of Starwood Property Trust (“STWD”) and serves on the boards of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, The Fessenden School in Newton, MA, The Trust Board at Boston Children’s Hospital and Team Impact in Quincy, MA. Mr. Kumin is also on the board of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association and the Belmont Child Care Association Board. Mr. Kumin holds a BA in political science from Johns Hopkins University.

As a race horse owner Mr Kumin has won the Kentucky Derby twice, the Preakness Stakes three times, and the Belmont Stakes once. He was co-owner of triple crown winner Justify in 2018. He won the Kentucky Oaks with Monomoy Girl and the Travers Stakes with Catholic Boy. He has won 12 Breeders’ Cup races and campaigned 14 Eclipse Award winners.

Scott Stuber

Bio

Scott Stuber is an acclaimed producer and award-winning studio executive who recently entered into a wide-ranging, multi-year partnership with Amazon MGM Studios to relaunch the historic United Artists and to finance and release movies from his new production company. Stuber and his company are producing several films per year under the storied United Artists (UA) label, both for theatrical and Prime Video releases.
Stuber served as Chairman of Netflix Film from 2017 to 2024. Credited with transforming Netflix’s expansive film slate, he oversaw the acquisition, development, or production of Netflix’s biggest and most beloved movies, including Red Notice (Netflix’s most popular movie of all time), Bird Box, Hustle, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Academy Award® and BAFTA winner All Quiet on the Western Front, Academy Award® winner Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, The Adam Project, The Gray Man, Academy Award® and BAFTA winner The Power of the Dog, Don’t Look Up, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, Sam Esmail’s Leave the World Behind, Academy Award® winner Marriage Story, and Academy Award® winner ROMA.

Prior to Netflix, Stuber founded and ran Bluegrass Films, which produced such hits as Ted, Central Intelligence, and Safe House, among many others. A former vice chairman of worldwide production at Universal Studios, he was responsible for many of its critically acclaimed, award-winning, and commercially successful films, including A Beautiful Mind, Seabiscuit, Cinderella Man, Jarhead, 8 Mile, Meet the Parents and its follow-up films, plus both the Bourne and Fast and the Furious franchises. More than 20 of the films he supervised grossed over $100 million at the U.S. box office.
Stuber is currently working on several films with United Artists, including The Girl in the Lake, an adult mystery thriller with Scarlett Johansson eyeing to star as the title character (subject to script), written by bestselling author Lauren Oliver, Kill Your Darlings, based on bestselling author Peter Swanson’s forthcoming novel and starring Julia Roberts, Christmas in Paradise, a holiday comedy starring Nat Bargatze, and a film from Edward Berger based on the forthcoming memoir from Evan Gershkovich, the reporter for The Wall Street Journal who was imprisoned in Russia for more than a year. Other upcoming projects for Stuber include Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein for Netflix, Deliver Me From Nowhere, the Scott Cooper-directed drama that stars The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen as the iconic singer hit an existential crossroads and turned it into the seminal album Nebraska, for 20th Century Studios and Disney, and Panic Carefully, Sam Esmail’s upcoming thriller starring Julia Roberts for Warner Brothers.
Beyond his production work, Stuber maintains an active role in film preservation and education through his board positions with the British Film Institute (BFI), American Cinematheque, and the National Film Preservation Foundation. He also serves on the University of Arizona President’s Council.

Mike Burns

Leadership Director
College: UNC 11’

Bio

Mike Burns is a former Division I Men’s Lacrosse player at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After college, he played two seasons in the MLL. Mike now works in venture capital at Canapi Ventures, where he focuses on mid to late-stage technology investments.
Before joining Canapi, Mike served for nine years as a Special Warfare Officer (SEAL) in the U.S. Navy. He deployed multiple times with SEAL Team Five to combat zones in the Middle East and Africa. Mike served the last two years in the Navy as the Officer in Charge of SEAL Qualification Training, overseeing the 30 week training pipeline of 500+ SEAL candidates across multiple locations in the Western U.S.
Prior to his military service, Mike worked as a Cash Equity Sales Analyst at Morgan Stanley. He holds a B.A. in History from UNC-Chapel Hill, an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and a Master’s in Public Leadership from the University of San Francisco. Mike also serves as a board advisor for the Rams Club and Boulder Crest Foundation.

Gene Daniels

NIL and Branding
College: James Madison University, VCU

Bio

Gene Daniels is a former Division I athlete at Hofstra University, James Madison University and Virginia Commonwealth University. After his athletics career, he obtained an MBA and M.Ed in Sport Leadership from VCU. His previous professional experiences include Athletic Fundraising & Donor Relations in intercollegiate athletics at High Point University, Social Media & Digital Content Manager in professional sports for San Diego Loyal SC, freelance photography & content production as well as business management & social media consulting for professional athletes. Since 2021, Daniels has been working in the sport of lacrosse providing branding, marketing, and business development services to some of the sport’s biggest companies, and its most popular athletes, through his consulting agency, The Social Sports.

Dr. Arman Taghizadeh

Sports Psychologist

College: James Madison University

Bio

Arman Taghizadeh, M.D. also known as “Dr. T”, is a Johns Hopkins trained Board Certified Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist also specializing in Sports Psychiatry. He is the founder of Mindset Training Institute® (MTI), host of the “The Mindset Experience®” podcast and a 2023 TEDx speaker.
Baltimore Magazine has selected him as “Top Doctor” every year since 2016. The Baltimore Business Journal and Living Classrooms Foundation have recognized him as a “Rising Star.” He is a member of the International Society for Sports Psychiatry, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA).
Dr. T grew up in the greater Baltimore area and attended the Gilman School where he was a wrestling All-American. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from James Madison University where he was awarded a varsity letter every year on the NCAA Division I wrestling team.
Dr. T has partnered with the NFL Alumni Baltimore Chapter as the Advisor for Mindset and Mental Health support. He is also the medical director for “The Hidden Opponent,” a top mental health non-profit recognized as a standout resource for athletes by Kobe Bryant.
